From Freezer to Fresh-Baked
Baking Instructions
Follow these steps for a golden, flaky pie baked fresh at home.
from frozen
Step 1 — Preheat Oven + Pan
Prior to baking, place a sheet pan in the oven and preheat the oven and pan according to the chart below.
Step 2 — Remove Pie From Freezer
Remove pie from freezer. Remove from carton and remove overwrap.
Step 3 — Egg Wash the Top
Immediately egg wash the top of the unbaked pie — not the crimped edge — with a mixture of 2 parts egg to 1 part water.
Step 4 — Cut Steam Vents
Cut 4 slivers into the dough at the 3, 6, 9, and 12 o’clock positions to allow steam to escape during baking.
Step 5 — Use Parchment + Hot Pan
Carefully place a sheet of parchment paper and then the frozen pie on the hot sheet pan in the oven.
Step 6 — Reduce Temp + Bake
Immediately reduce the oven temperature according to the chart below and bake as directed.
