Hanukkah - the Festival of Lights, begins at sunset on Friday, December 11, 2009. It is an 8 day celebration of the victory of the Maccabees and the rededication of the Jerusalem Temple. This Jewish holiday begins on the 25th day of the month of Kislev, which may fall anytime from late November to late December, and celebrates the re-kindling of the Temple menorah.
